As we saw with Fall 2010, more feminine trends are coming back in style, so it only makes sense that pleats are becoming a popular trend. Pleats add a touch of femininity and youthfulness to any outfit. However they were not just left to skirts and dresses, pleats and gathers were seen on blouses and shorts as well. Chiffon was the typical fabric of choice, creating a very delicate and ethereal look. Keep in mind that pleats are a minor detail that can create major bulk, so do not wear it anywhere you don't want to accentuate too much. Here's a look at the trend seen on the Spring 2011 runways.
