Balmain Fall 2012 RTW

As I have previously talked about in my blogs, Balmain is one my favorite design labels (seriously, top 3).  So last year when the head designer Christophe Decarnin was replaced by Oliver Rousteing, I was anxious that the Balmain I treasured and idolized would never be the same!  Within the past two runway seasons Rousteing has developed a more relaxed casual sportswear than in previous collections and still  managing to deliver the same rock n' roll ornate glamour that is Balmain.

Gucci's Fall 2012 ready-to-wear collection reminds me of dolls from the Victorian era (probably left in some creepy old attic) with all the black, velvet, leather, and capes, that has then somehow transformed into a trendsetting streetwalker with the modern day pants, and baggy coats.  Better said, the menswear trend.  Here are some of my personal favorites from the show...oh to trim them down is hard!
