I have decided to change Thursday to be beauty day as tomorrow will be Frugal Friday instead! Grey made a big comeback in 2009 as a fashion staple to have in your closet, but now being taken to the extreme is grey lipstick! Rachel Roy was the first designer to use it in her Fall 2009 Ready-to-Wear collection, then Doo.Ri in her Spring 2010 collection, but it will definitely be making appearances on the runways of other designers soon. It may sound like an odd choice of color to be putting on your lips, then again when is fashion ever considered "normal"? If applied in the right way grey lips can actually look quite fabulous. Try Icon or Frou by MAC for $14.00 or try mixing a black lipstick with some light concealer. Make sure to keep the rest of your face neutral but add a touch of grey to your eyes too so it doesn't look too dramatic.

Gold lipstick is also coming into style. Metallics have been HUGE in the past year so it only seems fair to put that metallic color on your lips! This style may only be for the daring and funky because one of the first to use gold lipstick is none other than the fierce Christian Siriano (Project Runway winner) in his Fall 2009 collection. He was using lots of gold chainmail fringe on his models and wanted to have a Cleopatra-esque feel on the runway.
If the gold lipstick trend is just too much, try using some neutral tones instead. It is still a great look and always shown on tons of runways!
